F. H. Stafford

F. H. Stafford, miller, was born in Lancaster County, Pa., in 1844, a son of Samuel and Maria (Jacobs) Stafford, natives of Pennsylvania, his father of Berks County, and his mother of Lancaster County. Our subject is the fifth of eleven children. He worked on the farm with his father till nineteen years of age, and then began to learn the trade of a miller. In the spring of 1866 he came to Wayne County, where he has since resided, with the exception of a year spent in Dublin. In 1874 he became a partner in the mill, and in 1879 became sole proprietor. His mill burned in the spring of 1883, and the following summer he erected a fine new brick mill with two run of burrs, at a cost of $6,000, and commenced operations in September, 1883. Mr. Stafford was married in April, 1871, to Emma W. Hill. They have three children. K.T. Stafford takes an active interest in all public affairs, both county and city.
