William Dye

William Dye, a vative of New Jersey, removed to Kentucky, and thence to Wayne county in 1810, settled one mmile south-east of whre the town now is. He served in the war of 1812, and died in 1820. His widow died on the farm in her 88th year. Their children, besides one that died in infancy, were John, Joshua, and Ellison, who were born in Kentucky; Simpson, Phebe, Eli, who died at 24, and Nancy. John and Ellison removed to Hancock county. Joshua married Mary Nicholas, and had nine children; six are living. He has been for many years, and is still a merchant in town.
