Henry Roettiger, Jr.

Henry Roettiger, Jr. was born at Fountain City, Buffalo County, Wisconsin, where he still resides. He is a son of Fred Roettiger and Dorothy Roettiger, both natives of Germany. He received a common school education, and after he had completed his schooling devoted himself to carpentering and general contracting. He has been more or less prominent in politics, as a Republican, ever since he attained his majority, and has been honored with official preferment at the hands of his fellow-citizens. He has held the offices of city clerk, city treasurer, mayor, supervisor and county treasurer. The Republicans of Buffalo and Pepin counties selected him in the fall of 1898 to represent them in the assembly, and he was elected over William B. SMith, Democrat. Mr. Roettiger served on the committees on state affairs and fish and game of the assembly of 1899, and was an active legislator, both in the committees and on the floor of the assembly. Mr. Roettiger was married December 31, 1883, at Fountain City, Wis., to Mill Linda Thuemmel. He has three children-Elsie, aged 14 years; Norman, aged 8 years, and Raymond, aged 5 years.
